1974 Honda CL 200 Doppelganger |

It's like I bought the little brother to Beetle's 400. A 1974 Honda CL 200.
Yea, I know, it doesn't have the scrambler pipes, someone has installed CB pipes and painted it. darn. But is truly is a CL200, it says so on the frame and the title. I looked it over real well before buying, and it is all there except the kickstart and side covers, and all original. It looks as though it's never been wrecked, and yes, like all old clunker bikes "It ran great" when I parked it !@#$@!@#! We'll see.
It has 8700 miles on the clock, a title, two extra hubs/rims and gauges, and I only spent $200. So I have a winter project. Found it about 30 miles away after putting in a 'wanted' add in CL. Yep, a wanted ad got me first dibs.

Well, my nephew & niece came over and helped me get this thing outta the truck. Good thing as I don't want to haul it to the beer store tomorrow.
It's in the shop and the shop is full. One boxed Bajaj, one kickass running Beemer, and one clunker Honda! The weather man hints that maybe the Ozarks will see the sun tomorrow, so I'm hoping that I can take a bunch of photos before I start baggin' and taggin'. This is gonna be fun and someday the temps will go up 30 degrees (back to normal) and I'll get a head start on winter.

Very Cool!
I'm gonna try to get some pics of my bike taken today, probably not up until later in the week. The paint / stripes were perfect until it fell over in the garage into my brother's scooter which fell into a big pile of junk. It didn't really fall much, just got tipped over a little, thankfully that pile of crap was there to keep everything up, but the stripe on the tank got a little nicked as did a little chip on my bro's scoot (a 150cc Aprilia Mojito Custom). Sorry bro!

Had a good day yesterday removing stuff. Gotta deal with the wiring. There's not a lot of wiring but it goes into and out of very small holes and such so some parts of the frame may get painted with wiring inside. The top plate of the triple tree is cracked, and the kick start shaft don't turn nuthin' The headlight bucket is a cheap piece of plastic crap and has a few cracks, but it looks like I can fiberglass some reinforcement inside it and make her look new.
It sure is one ugly frame though.
