Ok, well maybe you have. Laughing But not exactly like this one cuz it's mine. Black, 2006 with 387 miles at the moment. Totally stock but I like it none the less.

Gittin' her lean on.

A set of white walls would really be sharp. It'd be like riding a tuxedo. Laughing

And now, just for fun...

Cool scoot, skip the formal shit and go all black with rims and hubs.

Love the license plate. I'm not gonna reveal which specialty plate I ordered from the fine gents in the MO Prison System cause they ain't made it yet, but I'm gonna guess that a whole bunch of curry tractor riders in Missouri go "Oh shit, why didn't I think of that" Cool

Ah, ok, guess you got me on that one. Cool Good eye. It's a Cuppini in chrome. I'm not sure what the h.p. gain is on it but it works good. Gotta remember to leave it in gear. Almost had it roll away on me. Razz

Wish I could say the plate was mine but it actually came with the scoot as a momento. Since it's available with the DMV again i should snatch it up before someone else does.

I love it and rightly so as it looks a lot like mine! Smile I don't have the side stand and can't seem to get above 52 MPH, so a side-stand like yours may be in my future, too Smile

I ordered OE front and rear racks from a dealer in Illinois and that's about all I have plans for (at the moment). I really wanted the Chetak for the utilitarian purposes, gas mileage, 4T, retro look and price point. After owning more than a few motorcycles over the years going fast was not an objective and I could never carry enough crap on them to actually avoid taking the car. I think I have a better chance now for hauling groceries, books, laptop, etc. with this vehicle and leaving the truck and car in the garage. Though the Vespa's may be the Cadillac of scooters the Bajaj is probably the Volkswagon Beetle of scooters so it fits my lifestyle. I'm a beer and pretzels kinda guy not a martini and caviar type. Wink

I'm bored so time to update my Scooter Space.

These are for when I run away from home to join the circus.

Gottem cheap at an end of season sale. Cool reflective tape to aid in visibility.

I just stuffed em full of some old dirty socks and underwear for the photo's. Laughing

One day I went for a trail ride. First I rode this way.

Then I rode that way.

A view from the cockpit.

A view from the rear.

Cheesecake shot.

There I was, peacefully minding my own business when a feeling overcame me. Was I being stalked?

Fortunately, my mighty Chetak reared up and warned them not to come any closer. They turned tail and ran. Wink

She's totaled and I didn't do it. Evil or Very Mad

Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt.

Rule #1. Always be insured.

Rule #2. Be very, very, very sure of who rides your scoot.

I failed rule #2. Crying or Very sad

The good news is he was wearing my helmet. That got thrashed too but I'm ok with it since it could have got ugly. Whoever thought up "Full Coverage" is my hero.

No, I'm still not over it. [sigh] Embarassed

That is usually Rule #3, when Rule #2 is "Noone rides my scoot but me."

Ruff.

1. How 'totaled' is totaled Question

2. Considering that no new ones are being made, is there ANY WAY TO KEEP THE REMAINS FROM THE TRASH DUMP Question

Actually it wasn't all that bad. Certainly fixable for the right amount of money but then you have the red title issue to deal with later if you ever wanted to sell it. Therein was part of the problem too. Cost to repair exceeded replacement and I could not find a shop that would touch it. Automotive body shops didn't want the liability afterwards and Vespa dealers didn't want to mess with it since you didn't spend 5 grand with them originally. Needless to say I'll never buy parts for any bike from those bastards and I will only speak ill of them to people I meet. It's in the hands of a salvage yard now and I got within $50 of my purchase price from the insurance company so I guess I shouldn't complain but I'm still heartbroken. Such a nice bike and I had it running so good too. I have a few leftover bits on Fleabay if anyone is interested. Including my HRA pipe which wasn't on at the time of the crash. I had just taken it off the day before because I wanted to see the effect of going back to the stock muff after my wrinchin. It all happened so quick I didn't even get the satisfaction of finding out that answer. Sad

Any chance you have the info for the salvage yard? If the price was right I might be looking for a project.

I don't remember the name but I do remember them being in Rockford, Illinois so you might goggle around for it. If I can find the name I'll PM you. They sent a truck to pick it up. I kind of doubt they still have it. Usually they go over the auction block and from there who knows.

Sure sorry about that. Least your buddy is OK Smile

At least the insurance covered the loss. Got any idea what you plan for the future?

well, if your buddy is ok, you can just ride that for now!

Even if it wasn't for restoring, having an extra around for parts would be a very nice thing. I was just admiring your rufusswan box the other night, there's one salvageable thing right now.

Not yet. I've never been without a motorized two wheeler of some kind so... The Chetak was sure an attention getter. Can't tell you how many nice comments and waves I had received. Especially from the ones that actually knew what it was. Cool

Believe me I thought on it long and hard. Decided to just get on with it. Somebody out there has the makings of a nice rat bike now. Shocked

I've got my black chetak up on CL in San Francisco. I love her, and would be sad to see her go, but I want something I can take out of the city...It's a bit of a ways from Illinois, and with shipping it might be more than you want to spend, but I toss it out there anyhow...
