danman1178's 2006 BAJAJ Chetak - introduction to this topic. |
|
I really think this would be a great section of this site. I want us all to try and follow this format
The Subject should read somthing like this:
danman1178's 2006 BAJAJ Chetak
And then you could tell us about your BAJAJ (or any scoot you own) and post some photos of it too....
So I will go first.
I have a black 2006 Chetak
I have a front rack and rear rack
Mods so far:
Moved spare to under the cowling
Installed 12volt lighter port for charging gps and cell phone.
working on a rear rack
Made a mount for my GPS..
Installed Front tire crash bar.
I would like to perhaps install a pipe of some kind....
Somthing like that....
Also, tell me what you think about this....
I think that you could each have your own page if you want to make one.. You can edit your first post any time your scoot changes...sorta like a myspace for your scoot.....

danman,
I'm interested in how you installed the 12-volt port. Is it in the glove box? I'm also curious about the gps mount you made. The Magellan mount for bicycle/motorcycle/snowmobile looks like it requires handelbars. Thanks.

Ya, I got a 12 volt adapter from radio shack for about 10 bucks and wired it in under the horn cast. I drilled a hole inside the glove box and it looks like it was made to go there. I will post some pics the next time I have my horn cast off. My GPS holder is a different story.. I will post some pics of that soon as well....It is mounted on top of the glove box.

I would really like to see this portion of the site grow.....So I am encouraging all of you to post Photos of your Scoot on this Topic. I would love to create a place where people could show off their scoots and create a complete Photo-Log of our members Bikes....If you don't have a BAJAJ that is fine too...Just label your subject with your Username and your scooter type and Give us the Photos you have - I really look forward to Browsing your photos!

Looks real good Dan! Nice bonus whitewall peeking out from under that cowl. Did your wife eat your lunch for buying 'em?

It depends on the aesthetic you're going for. Personally, I'm not a big fan of that red accent. If anything, swap the red with black to see what it'd look like. That would really set up those whitewalls.

I like the red! I have seen it before, but not so much I am sik of it. I still think it looks cool. The black would be nice. It would give it more of a classic car look in stead of a classic Hotrod look. So depending on the look your going after......

Well the wheel is not all that hard to mount...there is a bracket that surrounds the battery.....and it mounts on there. Just line up the holes and..I think you have to drill one hole....where it lines up...then get some screws that fit the holes...I really wanted to weld some nuts to the bracket because it is really hard to get a wrench behind the tire to hold the nut while turning a bolt. My GPS mount works really well...but it is hard to explain...I will have to get some pictures up....
