Do your main jet looks like this? |
|
I partially dismantled my carb to see where the main jet is located so when pipe and jets arrive I would know how to proceed but my main jet doesn't look like the one on motorcyclecarbs.com item 99101-116 like some of you have bought to use on your chetak scooters, it is supposed to be same carb keihin pb-20
the smaller jet has a 42 stamped on it so it must be the pilot jet however I could not ID the main Air jet wich should be a 90 and the main jet I would say is the one on the left does not have any markings or number stamped to it
any help will be greatly appreciated
thanks

I put the pics inline because I have nothing better to do right now.
As far as the jets go, I can't help you, I've never taken mine all the way out.

You see, my main jet looks like it has some sord of an extention little pipe that if you look closely it even has tiny holes in it.. the threads look very similar to the one shown above and it seems it will work despite the unsimilarity on the top part.
the top part of my main jet does not come apart, already tried that one, it is one piece..

oldlegend,
I was looking at the second picture you have linked. Is it it necessary to remove that whole part from the engine, or can you just remove the cap that covers the jets? It looks like only two large bolts.

In order to get the cap off that covers the jets (you mean the bowl?) you need to remove the whole carb from the engine, beleive me it will be a lot easier, you need to work with extreme care not to let fall the pin that holds the float in place although every piece can be put back together it can be tricky!!!

Thank you for the info. Yes, I was referring to the bowl. I apologize, I'm not very well versed with the rejetting jargon. Is the pin viewable from the pictures posted? Are you referring to metal rod that acts as hinge with the beige piece?

Yes, that's exactly what I'm referring to

I don't know anything about the carb on a Legend. It may be different.
But from the picture above, the main jet is the part at the very bottom of the highlighted area. It is slotted so that you can unscrew it with a flat bladed screwdriver. If that's your carb in the photo, then you /can/ unscrew the jet from the assembly.
Take a look at the exploded view below. It's two pieces.

Which pipe are you getting? The POC or the HRS?

I wanted to get the poc it is smaller and louder but couldn't find it anywhere so I opted for Al's hot rod from scooterwest.com great people and diligent service.

Just took my carb apart to clean it since i'm close to 3k miles. But my main jet has a K120 stamped on it. This
is the first time I've ever opened it. Should I change it to the stock 90? My bike is running completely stock as well.

120 is correct for stock.
If you're running a POC or an HRA pipe, or you have a pod-type air filter, you need to jet down from the 120. But as you say, you're running stock so you're golden.

Just got my 115 jet in from POC. I was VERY suprised at how small it is?? Like less than a quarter inch long and 1/8" wide?. All the pics make it look like it's 2" long and 1/4" wide.
EDIT: Ok I went to the link from Keihin and I see that the one in that pic is 4mm x 7 mm . .so I guess I got the right thing

You're looking at the jet stack, not the jet itself.
You just need to replace the jet - not the whole stack.

OK thanks matty_x
I need to still receive the pipe and also get up the nerve to put the jet in, all after finishing the break in period
