Good deal for bajaj?

Hi,

I'm about to buy a 2002 bajaj with 3,000 miles, with new clutch, rear hub has been replaced recently, with all sorts of nice customizations (custom made seat), back rack, chrome, windshield, vigano hubcaps, etc...

$1,600 dollars.

My concern is finding parts if something should go wrong... it has been taken care of very, very, well, by a collector of scooters, but... every mechanic I speak too says parts are a real problem...

Thoughts?

If you like those accessories (most of them are stick-ons from autozone or pep boys) I guess it looks like a clean bike, price is okay if not spectacularly low. Tires, cables, spark plugs etc are all available, and that's mostly all they need. Learn to do your own oil changes and valve adjustments, do your own cables, that's about it. You'll be pretty sure of getting many thousands of miles of riding out of that bike before you need any part that's hard to replace. But yes, I'm glad I'm not having to track down a new crank, or a whole gear stack or something. But those kinda of problems are rare, way rarer than on a Vintage or 2-stroke machine, these things mostly just go and go and go.

Is that original paint? From the photos it looks like a dream. Nice job with the seat and wheel cover as well.

Pretty sure that Bajaj Butter-Yellow paint job is the original, don't see why someone would drop a grand to have it come out that completely stock looking.

Isn't that a POC MK2? Or maybe a MK1 with a home-fit end can on it? I own a POC1, and have never really checked out a Hot Rod Al closely in person. The metal looks like the stainless on my POC, and the hardware and fitments look the same.

POC Ver1
POC Ver2
Hot Rod Al

Those are the only performance 4T Bajaj pipes ever available for purchase, right?

Of course with a 4-stroke the home-made possibilities are pretty much endless.

Gotta be a MKII but it looks funky.. Don't remember the last time I've seen a POC exhaust in person though

Pretty sure POC and Al where the only ones but your guess is as good as mine.

OP the guy your buying it from mention anything about the exhaust?
