SC...sorr I didn't see your question until now.
The rack is a P-PX series rack... However it has changed a little since I posted the above pix.
I have cut off the vertical tubing... now my rack & my pillion seat rack are flush.
I'll post a foto...
The retail of the rack is $179...
I didn't pay that... Wink

I was actually asking about the rear rack -- that's part of your crash bars?

SC

SC,... could you re-ask your question then... I'm afraid I have lost it.... hahaha

Yes, yes -- where'd you get your rear rack, and what did you pay? Mine (spare tire/rack, Stella, I think) broke (the underseat plate and bar snapped!) and I'm either looking for something like what you have, or possibly hacking the current rack apart and bolting the shelf straight to the body.

SC

Gotcha...ok...
here are a couple of links...
http://www.scooterwest.com/item_detail/PX-Piaggio-Rear-Rack/24/

I have one more link to my flikr.... 9whatever thingy)

and a few more listed here
http://www.scooterwest.com/item/page/17/Tjs-EQ-/NA/

and even more here

http://www.scooterworks.com/Rear_Racks_C193.cfm

The origial Vespa racks are pricey at $179...
There are some other great racks on these links...
I was going to sell mine but couldn't find the flat, long one that I wanted so I cut
my verticals off of mine... well here... this is my Flikr thingy...
click here if you want to see...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28552828@N02/sets/72157606152263994/

I am finishing laying up the headset & leg-shield tonight... then I am filling some holes on
the rear end tomorrow and adding a new tail light which, I think is bitchin'n...
I believe it is an old VBB... Acorn thingy... (no, I don;t want a Vespa... but I do like cool...
and I think it is....
I have to admit... this entire wiring thing blows my mind as much as working on an engine does... haha

I am close to painting now... just doing some final crappy stuff thingies...
Tomorrow I cut my rear racks horizontal bar so my new Acorn light will fit in that space and I fill
a few more holes with glass & epoxy....
*** then the trouble starts....*** I have to start doing wiring shit.... (oh my hell) I am so far out of my element here... i kid you not....
Like I say I can do body wor, upholstery and the likes... (ask Sheila) hehe but... when it comes to motors and wiring... damn the torpedoes ...HELP...lol
Yeah...even with SC's & Paz's pix... my ADD kicks in and I get all freaked out..............lol
Oh.. and that it why this takes me as long as it does... I am a perfectionist... if it's not just right then screw it... I will find another project....lol
So there... I spilled my guts.... i'm retarded.............
Shocked

Ok... so here is the deal... every time I think I am on my way to buttoning this thing up I
come up with YET one more thingy. (blame it on the Vodka Martinis)

I pulled my vespa rack off to cut off the center bottom cross bar. then I removed the tail light,
then I removed ...well... everything else... Would you look at all those holes...
I have no idea if these are stock holes but oh my hell... it reminds me of a story in Vegas of a guy
with Lucy the goat... ( a true story as was told on all the morning radio shows in the early 90's) haha Shocked
In Vegas for hell sakes... I kid (another name for a young goat) you not...hahah puns intended ...hehe
but i digress........lol

Anyway... I have been glassing these holes... and then filling them with my magic epoxy... while I was
at it I decided to make the seem smooth... I just don't like it... so here I go, off on yet another tangent.
ya gotta laugh... Laughing
She is getting there boys & girls... really... every day I fill another hole Laughing Wink

While I am at it here... does anyone no the paint numbers so I can match the silver here?
I was/am tempted to just wire brush the entire scoot & then clear coat it... woohoo... of course I
would have to weld in all the holes.
Thinking about it... love the brush steel look.

When I was building "Space Scooter One" the 1st manned scooter to orbit the earth and return on 1 tank of gas... I
had thought about chroming the entire scoot.... thinking of course it would make re-entry easier Shocked Laughing haha

But after the X-mission award money was awarded to Burt Rutan & that Brit, Virgin Airline cat I tossed the idea...but I was
close I tell ya... Rolling Eyes

So here are some pix... and I hope my above was a slight bit entertaining.......lol
thanks for suffering through it...
Now, where did I set that martini.... hehe

Rather than boring you all with pix you may not care about... I have decided to simply post a link to my Flickr thingy...
The newest pix are posted at the top for your easy viewing...
and I thank you for you support...
(cowboydoug for president, I am a write in)

AH... that feels better... I hope that is easier for any who are interested.

From the argousadotcom website:

2003/2004 Bajaj Scooter DuPont color codes:

Chetak

Misty Jade Green - F2249

Silver Metallic - B9844

Black - 99

http://www.argousa.com/Tech%20tips.htm

It looks like your Chetak is a 2005 or 2006 but you might contact tech@argousa.com to verify.

ok...fun stuff... I just got my new windshield "Cuppinni" easy install.... fit is a bit weirdOrama though.
but... It does cut the wind...oh my hell... I could start a forest fire behind this thing while driving 55...
...though it is a tight squeeze... not much room from my helmet to the front of this thing... I am working on a mod.

I have been looking for an air horn as of late... you know... one of those big Muth'rs... I'm trying to
figure out the whole power thing... and I have been thinking a 2 or 2.5 liter tank may be better than
an on-board mini compressor...(I am working out the details and have some good ideas for this)
(I want to rip her [panties off when I blow this thing)

Item last for tonight is: - I think I have found some cool lights for the rear end of our Chetaks ... I am talking to
the cat tomorrow...

Oh... ok... 1 more item last....hahaha... I have been looking at digital gauges... speedo/fuel/tach
I may have found something in the Dakota line up.
Once again... I am trying to work out the details....

As for the windshield... Me likie... me likie A-Lot...

I have to tell you about the freakin tubeless wheels...
After 3 different valve stems I finally have a
good seal. What a pain right in the bum hole.

Turn lights are getting shaved next week... floor rails will be back
from the powder coat dude & new digital gauges are finally going in.
Then just need to put her back together... I just hope I remember
where all the screws go... Shocked I kid you not.......lol

Doug, that is certainly turning out quite stylish. Keep going!

You do have to do some better pics of those "hub caps" and tell the story of their creation. Are they on both hubs?

Ahhhh, I wondered what happened to you and your lil mule. Nice work! How do you like those mirrors? I've thought about doing something similar as well. I like the idea, but I'm curious if it works well. Nice to have you back.

I just bought the HRA from whats his kidney was on Ebay.
The HRA was the missing link on my LiL' Mule...

My Koso digital gauge arrived from Motosport scooters 2 weeks ago & it along with HID lights
and some new... newer turn lights are going on. My floor rails are going to the powder coater for a little
touch of red and then I think i will have her done...
I should have my project complete in 2 weeks... but this is my busy season for work so I'm at the mercy
of time.

Hey Cowboy#2! Laughing

It's been awhile. Man, you aren't kidding with that thing blasting off into space- that digital speedo is going to make it totally retro 80's space age fabulous. Did somebody say "knight rider"? Looks freakin' cool.

And the red stuff is really starting to work for your scooter. I bet it is stunning in real life because the pictures are certainly attention grabbing.

I have those CRASH bars on mine and you are right, they really protect the scooter. Mine has been knocked off the parking stand on it's side twice by big ass trucks in the paring lot and all it did was put some small minor scratches on the crash bars.

Keep the pictures and updates comin' as you get the time.
