Just turned 1,000 miles two days ago.Bought my '05 new in Nov 07.Mostly to work, long short cuts, scenic routes,bread-milk runs, etc.Still getting used to it,but love to get out on it.Love the economy af this machine. One trip to work and home in my pick up versus 1 1/2 weeks on the Chetak.Still trying to figure out gas gauge. Took my longest ride yesterday,40 miles round trip to Harbor Freight(love that place).Great dealer 6 miles from home(great guys, great support) make owning this machine that much nicer!

I rolled 5,000 miles a few weeks ago. I would have reached that milestone sooner had I not let it sit for a few weeks while I tried to fix a starting issue by replacing spark plug, cap, and high tension wire. The mechanic at Motorsport Scooters found a loose wire in an unusual location and repaired my turn signal issue as well all for a little bit more than the cost of a case of Guinness and a giant sized bag of Peanut M&M's. I heart Motorsport Scooters!

I've yet to mount my Schinko whitewalls because my Nylogrips are showing so little wear despite the poor road conditions here in San Diego. Its kind of like that episode of Seinfeld where Kramer taunts George to see how far they can go when the tank reads empty. But seeing some of the photos here of Chetaks rawkin' whitewalls has me jonesin' to get it done.

My Bajaj has been almost flawless in comparision to some of the issues we've been having with mi Mala Mujer's Vespa LX150. What awesome scoots Chetaks are! Here's a few recent photos of the beast.

I rolled 6,000 miles a few weeks ago but have been a little absent minded to post another milestone here. My fuel gauge acts goofy occasionally and will sometimes show empty after filling the tank. After a little bit of riding around it will rise back up to full but will occasionally go back and forth between full and empty depending on which way the bike is leaning. Daily I find gear oil on the garage floor where it was parked overnight. I'm not concerned with an oil leak as I know that its only marking its territory.

I finally got around to having the Shinko whitewalls mounted. I'm keeping the old tires for home decoration in our "scooter room." Also, had the 6,000 mile service performed by Motorsport Scooters. The rear brake cable was replaced as well. Surprisingly, the Shinko's ride nicer than the Nylogrips. (Place straight faced emoticon emphasizing understatement here.)

I think the whitewalls really help to accent the classic lines of the Chetak.

Who knew that they'd end up putting a church right across the street from Motorsport Scooters? WWJDrive?

Gear oil? No such thing.

I've never had a fluid spot of any kind under mine in 8,800 miles. Maybe your oil level is higher than it should be? I'd be curious where it's coming from, but not terribly concerned.

I would look for the source of the leak. I found loose bolts in my header doing so. A small leak is not critical but it is a warning sign.

I rolled 1000 two days ago, and coincidentally also got my first 100 mile gallon this week. What a sweet machine.

Post Rolling 8K today Reply with quote
It's summer solstice today, longest day of the year. I just put on a my newly painted HRS pipe, so the last of the cosmetic upgrades are done on the Budha. Lookin' pretty and ready to roll Cool

I'm sitting on 7,835 miles. By 2:00 this afternoon I'll be at Cartoon's Oyster Bar & Grill sucking a brew and the scoot will be 8K miles old. It's the 3rd annual Larry Eft Memorial Ride (sponsored by Chubby Customs) and all proceeds go the local SWMO Ozark Hospice organization. A ride to Everton for more beer drinking, and we finish off the night to some great blues music. Big Mike plays this event every year ( http://www.bigmikegriffin.com/ ). He is one killer blues guitar man. I'll try to post some pics tho I'll probably be the only non-Harley at the event. Ah, well.

Have fun and keep the shiny side up this summer.

Paz

I love it when it gets like that. When you go over to your car and it's like,"let's see if this thing still works."

Amerivespa did a number on my mileage, so I rolled over 5,000 today on the way to work!

Actually tried to start my car the other day for the first time in almost 2 months, but the battery was dead, lol. Guess I need to jump that baby off.

The 95 degrees isn't as bad as I thought it would be...minus the monkey butt.

I can't stop laughing that the monkey-butt comment. There's nothing like letting that black scooter seat heat up to about 130 degrees (or more?) in the summer sun before hopping on it to ride directly en route to monkey-butt central!

I turned 10K back in 2006. I was riding with some friends on modern Vespas. I had to pull over to take a pic. They were all impressed and kinda shocked with the sturdiness and overall coolness factor of my bike. Very good group to ride with. This was when I lived in Temecula, CA

Rolled 8,000 miles 2 days ago. I've put over 6,000 miles on it since moving to California which means I'm now averaging about 500 miles a month.

Went into town today to stock up for the long weekend. Odo said 9,972.5 as I set out. Perfect day to ride, and I saw about 30 bikes cruising highway 'H' from Chadwick south to Forsyth, which is considered by many the best 15 miles of twisty in Missouri. Luckily, I get to ride about 1/2 of it every time I buy beer, ain't that a bitch Cool

So the scoot is sitting pretty in the back yard and the odo reads 9,998.1
