He sorta F'ed up.
He could have been welcomed as a resource for parts if he had introduced himself in the new member section and said I have this business that supports what you all are doing....(as have a few LBS's and independent scooter mechanics).
Instead he slams the board with a bunch of the same posts under any thread that came up for looking for x part.
He could have at least tailored his responses to the individual threads...
But NOOOOOooooo, he had to go piss off Tom & MJ

Yes, it appears that A.S. Exports is spamming the board rather than taking a more respectful approach to "assisting" our dear group. I have received also an email from them, Export Parts Manager, Partap Singh idealp@yahoo.com and/or rajansondh@hotmail.com
I have responded as follows. I shall deny them posting ability on the board, and will reduce delete most all the posts.

Sir or Sirs, you are earning negative karma with your quite too-Western, American hard sell - used car salesman approach of multiple, boring postings on our Bajaj Scooter board. Despite most us being 'westerners' we do not enjoy this approach, despite what you may have been told or learned from the broadcast of American media into the country of India.
Our scooters are no longer in production and ongoing parts supply has been sufficient reason for many NOT to invest in a Bajaj 4T scoot. Many of us would have appreciated knowing that an Indian firm was in the business of supporting our loveable scoots.
However .......
Your onslaught of posts today is considered SPAMMING our board members have responded in kind, but not in the kind way you might have wished. Your actions have resulted in an onslaught of requests for me to interrupt my day to 'clean' our board of your offensive posts and to ban you and your organization from further opportunities to SPAM. I will do so immediately, and with gusto, as this has interrupted my here-to-for pleasant afternoon of beer drinking. It is bad enough that I am required to sweep up the detritus of the uncouth, but it is damned dangerous to interrupt Mr. Swan's beer meditations.
Should you care to apologize, and THEN seek a more civilized approach to introducing yourself to the members of our forum group, please address said correspondence to Dan at danman1178@gmail.com
Sincerely, Rufus Swan |

ROTFLMAO! I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and just assume he is unaware of proper forum etiquette, but I quickly discovered that he seemed all too familiar with the inner workings of a forum (searching, avatars, sending private messages).
But thank you. If he comes back and acts like a human instead of a robot, then perhaps I'll give his website a once-over.

Also roflmao, There's a time to Early for beer? Rufusswan should be writing a book. His vernacular abilities are stellar.
There may be nothing more annoying than beer interuptes. UNless you happen to be wrinching at the time. Which could compound the issue.

There are occasions when 'too early' can apply. My friend Jason (fish/canoe/camp buddy) quite often has beer for breakfast ... then he can consume my breakfast fare. As the early riser that's my duty, he cooks dinner. But creek rules DO NOT apply to normal life.
I doubt that the email will produce any fruit to harvest, but he did email me, so I felt obliged to respond. Taking MJ, CT, and Dirk as tone, I also felt that responding in a sort of snotty, elitist, Mark Twain way was more than justified, he being a major hero of mine. Besides, it was rollicking good fun

I have a dream. A great and noble dream, to charm you with.
I look forward to the day when chickens can freely cross the road without having their motives questioned. |
Shouldn't it be ....
The news of its crossing has been greatly exaggerated.

Does anyone know if this is legit? I got a PM from him too; but I did ask about 3-wheelers in another post.
Scooter season starting here and time to oil the hinges on the garage fridge (dorm-size)-my hat's off to Tom's very respectable beer cooler.
Lots of sand on the roads here in RI-ride safe everybody-

It looks legit from the website, it was just their lack of style and courtesy that we were complaining about. We'll see if they contact Dan ...
Tom's beer fridge is far more respectable than their actions. He just needs some Heilemans Old Style in that thing. That's my beer de jour

yea, this years sand crop is doing great! it looks to be sprouting up in most corners and even spreading to the middle lanes on some streets.
the gravel crop is a little less than last year... but it hasn't rained as much yet... it wont take much for some of those gravel driveways to spill out in the roads.
makes for a fun and hair raising scooter ride!
...and thanks for 'fridge complements. i bought it last year with my(Bush's) stimulus money. it was only $75 at the Goodwill store. i was leaning on it and the wife says "oh, are you buying that?" i said "sure we can put it in the shop..." i was just being a smart ass... but she was serious! so we bought it.
...i was hoping to get a new BBQ grill with this years stimulus check... nope. thanks Obama... well at least he let me keep the CHANGE...

BEER Beer |
|
When I was in my early 20's and always close to broke, we used to buy generic beer. Came in white cans that said BEER in black letters on it for about $6 a case, no bullshit. Wasn't half bad, either. Think it was repackaged Falstaff or something.
Oh, the bad old days.

consider this |

maybe the Indian cat is a bit verbose in his posts... maybe he doesn't know how "WE & THINGS" operate here on this board...
BUT... either did I... I came on here always joking around.. being a smartass to you all but thinking I was just trying to have
fun in an otherwise tedious world...
Consider this guy or guys are just TRYING to be CAPITALISTs... the very foundation of our nation and that HE/THEY TOO want
to provide a product or service to a NEEDY... and we are NEEDY of new goodies... crowd..
Let's try to show some love to a retarded noo B like I once was...
JUST MY 2 CENTS WORTH...
God Bless America and all who didn't voted for B.O.

Doug,
My post and email above were quite loving, in fact, overly so. My response had nothing to do with Capitalism, any other -ism, the coming of Jesus, politics, my personal attitude, or the price of rhino horns Perhaps you did not get to read all the posts I deleted, if not, you are lucky.
It works this way: If anyone, for any reason, posts EXACTLY THE SAME WORDS in each and every post, regardless of the topic in which posted, then said actions are considered SPAM. Period.
Their 'actions' were not accidental in nature, nor was my response. In my generosity I believe I let 3 posts remain on the board AND I told him how to be a good vendor to the group.
