I live in California. I'm from Nebraska, then Minnesota, then Colorado. My Dad drove a Cushman on the farm until my grandmother drove it into the woodpile.

I just laughed out loud! They say it is "all in the delivery" and somehow it came through in the text. I think the term "woodpile" helped push me over the edge.

Indianapolis, Indiana; home of a budding new scooter scene. My black Bajaj is my 3rd scooter in 6 years. (I have a 2002Yamaha Vino, a 2006 Stella and now a 2003 Bajaj) I have had her approximately 36 hours. She is used and I am ready to start modifying....

I'm in Los Angeles and have had my Chetak for a week now. I haven't seen anyone else riding around with one. I came to the site out of curiosity, and now I find it a nice source of entertainment and information.

I am where I am from. Living about 25 road miles northeast of Branson, Mo. My newly purchased 2002 Chetak is sweet, tuned proper, and a delight to drive. Only 3 days with wheels on the ground, and I have logged 200+ miles. Am working on a box for the back rack and will post pics when it is done. I quick-fabbed a 12x12x16" one of some scrap birch plywood, but it is too large looking. Well, unless you want to haul chickens or goats! Maybe I could get some part-time work pickin' up road kill??

I'm from St. Louis, MO in the city proper, not those trashy suburbs(where I grew up). I got an '02 Legend w/ 2700mi off of the local craigslist for $1200. I actually blame Angry J and company for this. This is my 3rd scoot(5th overall) but my first manual one, which I'm really enjoying!
I'm also an admin on the St Louis Scooter Forum @ www.stlscooterforum.com for those that are local and not on there yet!

Hello from Maryland |
|
Just purchased '06 chetak 2 weeks ago from X-Treme Scooters in Bel Air.Have an '05 Dazon 50cc for a year and a half. Not bad,but wanted something that looks like it might last.Decided to go with Bajaj for 2 reasons:I trust the mechanic at X-treme and all the comments here.Am now practising for my motorcycle license. Not many miles on it yet but seems to be a good machine and it is nice to ride.

just got my '02 chetak last week from burbank kawasaki. only had 90 miles on it. they also have some brand new '06 but i like used, and i like butter yellow.
i scoot approx. 10 miles each way to work every day. i used to use the back streets but now i find that the main drags are easier on the shifter due to less stopping. some people here don't seem to like sharing the road very much, but my guess is that they're pretty mad at the world, and have good reason to be jealous for almost everything.
i'm getting used to the traffic at the same time as i'm learning to be a better rider.
if anyone can recommend some awesome pleasure rides in the LA area, please speak up.

I am from the Los Angeles area. I got my Chetak last month and mainly been riding around in my neighborhood. I haven't seen any other Bajaj riders either yet in my area, but I did see one Black Chetak parked in Westwood in front of the Best Buy. I've mostly seen Buddies and modern Vespas.

Hey Voodoolock!
Congratulations on your newly acquired Chetak. They are the best scooters ever! I noticed you're in Los Angeles. You probably already know, but this April, there's going to be a huge scooter rally in L.A. called "Reflections". I'm thinking of going. If you want to find out more about it, ask Steve from BigAss Motors in Northridge: Phone: 818-882-4226, Website: www.bigassmotors.com Also, here's the Reflections Scooter Society website: http://www.reflectionssociety.com/
I'm up in Camarillo, but these guys are my scooter shop buddies. If you talk to Steve, Eric or Carlos, tell them Matt with the silver Chetak in Camarillo told you about them. They're really cool, and they know all the pleasure rides in the L.A. area too.

Hey all!
I'm a new member. Bought a used 06 Chetak (Ben) about a month ago. I've been cruising the forum here for a bit, made some the common, easy mods (Instrument lights, tires, Horn is next).
This has been a great resource!
I'm in the East Bay, CA. Actually Albany (not Berkeley as my handle might suggest)
It'd be nice to hear from some other East Bay folks...
Cheers-
Bailey

Portland, ME originally, Brooklyn, NY for the last 10 years.
I am on my 2nd 2002 Chetak. First one came to me with a rim bent so badly it had worn a 3" long groove through the top of the clutch housing so that it only leaked while actually moving... Engine seized on me on the highway, luckily there were no injuries.
My current Chetak was previously owned by a guy in NJ who treated it like a complete baby (aside from covering it in about 3 dozen bumper stickers... hooray for Sticker Shock!). Came with HALF the miles my previous scoot had when it died. Runs like a top, and has a few mods/additions. PX seat, POC pipe, oversize chrome grips, chrome front rack, half moon wheel covers, chrome crash guards, and stock kickstart and center stand chrome plated.
With the number of scooters I see in NYC, I NEVER see any Bajajs. Anyone out there??

Hey man, I'm coming to you from Birmingham, AL, and we're running strong down here. Just a few Bajaj down here, but it's a big scoot town...and getting bigger. My friend is selling the hell out of some Kymcos and Genuines...
