Any 2stroke engine oil will work. There are some better and more expensive ones of course. I don't know much about that model, but if it is autolube, make sure to get one that says it's compatible on the container (aka not premix only). Make sure to get the ratio of oil to gas right if premixing.

Yes it is a premix. But which grade is good & offers consistency in performance?

I am planning to get my scoot Powder coated hence I will be rebuilding the engine during then.

I'm not sure what you mean by grade? 2t oil comes in synthetic (best), semi-synthetic, and regular old dinosaur oil. It's all fine, it just depends on what you want to pay. If you want the best stuff, buy your oil from a shop that specializes in offroad/2t dirtbike racing. Motul, repsol, belray etc are all excellent, and can be found in both synthetic and dino blends.

Thanks for all your feedback.

I could not get hold of Motul 2T Semi-Synthetic or Synthetic oil. I got the contact details for Gulf oil distributors. They mentioned that I need to go to the main supplier to get that oil as they are not stocked by dealers anymore.

Accidentally, the shop from where I used to buy spares had Veedol 2T 500ml Semi Synthetic oil & that too pretty latest stock.

These are my observations after using the oil on my 1993 Chetak
- Engine runs way smoother( I cant feel the rear wheel rotation any more) & silent too
- It gets less hot compared to before.
- Gear shifting got improved( To a good extent)
- Engine feels agile & more responsive & the vehicle vibrates less.

I will add more inputs soon.

The gear oil is separate from the oil/gas mixture. The 2t oil will not improve the shifting. It won't have anything to do with the rear wheel either. I think you are experiencing a placebo effect. I think you need to do some more research on 2t scooter basics (how the engine works, how the gears work etc). It will really help you out in the long run.

Thanks for the reply donarntz

May I know where the gear oil chamber is located. I am still a noob. My mechanic is pretty useless when it comes to imparting knowledge.

Please let me know.
