Who is going to Amerivespa? |
|
Four of us from Arkansas are going over. It looks like it's gonna be a whole grip of fun!

I'm trying. Everyone I know is going, but I have to quit my job and find another if I'm to make it...so it doesn't look promising.

Not much love for amerivespa yet.
Come on guys. Rob needs a few more Bajaj owners there to tell his oil change experience to in person. And if that is not enough, don't forget about the big trip to Deal's gap. Having been there several years ago, I can tell you first hand, it is a scooter ride you do not want to miss.
Hope to meet some of you there!

Well, as it turns out, one of the other girls I work with just got fired and I had to move some weekends around, so I'm off that Saturday and Sunday. It may be quite a ride up on Friday night, but at least it's an option now!

Xytar and I will be there. We might go down early and camp. If that's the case, we'll go to Deal's Gap on our own.
We'll be representing the West Virginia chapter of the Fists of Curry!

Carrazo for free? |
|
I heard that Carrazo is putting free messenger bags in the first 250 pre registered rally bags. Regardless, with all the sponsers I bet the rally bags are gonna kick ass even if you aren't in the first 250.

OK, so who all's in? I'm going, but I can't make it til Friday night...and I think we'll be at Lamar's Friday night. STRONG, cheap drinks, lol.
Rob, we'll definitely have to meet up.

Hey Owsley!
I think we may have space for an extra person in our room now. Someone backed out. So if you need a place to lay your head and want to split 4 ways on a room let me know and I will run it by my crew.

I am at amerivespa and it is G-RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT!
Stacy and I both got complimentary Corazzo messenger bags and the shirts look awesome.
We went on the 300mile plus early bird scooter ride yesterday and it was beautiful. The dragon's tale had some really nice curves and wasn't too busy since it was a week-day.
Today there were two rides but we decided not to go because it rained.
Having a blast!

" 300 mile early bird ride "
Am I reading that right? Like 300 miles before breakfast? I want evidence, a ride report. That's bordering on superhuman

Ditto here Owsley. Sorry I didn't get a chance to hang out with you more man. I was pretty worn down every time we ran into each other.
Did you see the old vespa w/side car that a guy dropped the bajaj 4t power plant in. His conversion tool was a hammer!
I am so past exhausted, Consider me dead for the next 24 hours.

The weird thing is, Rob, I was full of energy every time I saw you -- haha, so I guess we missed each other's wavelengths. I was so close to calling in to work today, but I toughed it out.
I tell you, my scoot ran like a dream this weekend. I kept up with everyone on those wonderful hills of Chattanooga, and the 4-5 hr ride home was smooth as silk. The only thing I had to do over the weekend was adjust my clutch cable a little. All-in-all, nobody with us broke down.
Here are pics of the whole thing, though to see our group, click on the pics by "catdander", "Steve-O", "Erin", "Oliver_Erika", "eenie816", and "bss movies":
http://scoot.net/gallery/2008/07/amerivespa/ (scroll down)
If you look at Steve-O's pics, you'll see me lined up center for the slow ride. I'm the bald one.

Just had to share these with you guys. Check out this site. http://www.killboy.com/calendar.jsp
Click on the July 24th date. Click on the next screen where it says continue. Then "Motards-Dirtbikes-Trikes-Scooters", and go to page 14. Bottom left hand corner, picture 341 and 342 is Stacy, picture 346 is cowboyrob.
I'm in there a little further back, picture 389 and 390, but you all don't want to see an old Sprint.
Killer time.
And I rode in the white/rusty SS 180 Bajaj powered side hack. WEIRD stuff riding in a hack, but that engine did much better than a 2T Vespa engine would. 400 lb of riders, plus another 350-400 for the bike and side hack. NO PROBLEM with the load. Crazy guy that owned it though. Bart from somewhere in Ohio I think.
One more thing. I need to post the photo of Rob in the back seat of my truck on the way home. I think it was 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning, I'll check the time of the photo, and that was the first point that he dozed off. The trip home was way worse than riding that 300 miles on Thursday. 12 or 13 hours, Damn time change, (I can't remember when we left Chattanooga) 6:00 Eastern or 6:00 Central, but we did not get into Fayetteville until 6:00 the next morning.
Amazing time!
