I named my Legend, "Sci-fi Wasabi," after the Cibo Matto song, and because it's futuristic and looks like sparkly, shiny wasabi. Wink

My wife named ours Guter (pronounced with a heavy german accent). This came from a running Friends joke (where they named their TV Steevie).

I'm thinking of canning 'BudhaSattva' in favor of BudhaPest. Somehow that sorta tickles my funny bone.

P.S. (no disrespect to DanFan's)

Still thinking through names - despite the classification as a girly man, when you have a 5 and a 9-year old who are really into your scooter, you are well-served to have a name Smile

I like the "Jolly Roger" for now, but I also like the idea of an Indian name - perhaps based on one of my favorite Indian dishes like Korma or Tikka or Chutney etc.

La Paloma Blanka. A chilean buddy of mine said one day; " Did you ride La Paloma today?" I'm all, "What?!?" The Dove! It stuck.

Indian food is my favorite, but damn if it isn't salty and fattening at many of the local restaurants for the "americanized" versions. I have eaten at several of my Indian friends homes and wow - not only delicious, but also healthy.

It is currently a guilty pleasure, especially in buffet format.

I have never had a dosa, though - seen them made and eaten, but yet to try one Smile I love the pic as I know they can be huge!

yea, i gotta' go with angry j on this one... i don't think men should name anything that doesn't come when called. like naming a cat? girls give cute names to things... giving something a title like "pretty yellow hate machine" makes sense...

it is pretty and its yellow and it hates to be ridden!

because i have multiple scooters the "name" of each is the make. 'the blue badge', 'the rally', 'the bajaj'...

now just 'cause i don't name them, it doesn't mean i don't call them names...
...you can ask my neighbors about some of the names they've heard me call them...

I just got a Red 2002 Chetak and while I agree in not naming things, the wife loves to do it. She has named the Chetak, "the big RED Shankar" after Ravi Shankar. I had to laugh when I heard the name for the first time.

Someone I was to go on a date with said my scooter was "definitely not a panty melter". So it's now "the Goat aka the Panty Melter Delux". Or Panty Melter for short. The BMW 75/5 is "the Suicide Machine" due to the feeling of impending doom it seems to throw off. My new Vespa PX should be here in a week or so, but I guess it takes some bonding before a name appears. I though naming your vehicles was commonplace (all my friends do it).

Okay, if only women name our scooters, why do men give each other nicknames? And just what is a metrosexual, anyway?

I call her Curried Thunder due to her POC pipe vocalizations. My neighbors call her a nuisance.

Mine is named "Avagina". So since I ride Avagina does that make me a man?

My Bajaj is actually called Ole' Blue.

Mines nicknames Betty cos its black...

My daughter says it reminds her of a slow machine gun, we live in a fair sized town and she could hear me drive from our place, to the other side of town, stop, start and come back, she said in the distance it sounded like a machine gun going off lol

There are a lot of Harley riders here. I like to make fun of them a little by putting leather on my Chetak. I have the tool pouch, tassel things on the levers. Even have black leather saddle bags and vest when I get ornery.

I tell people I'm going to go jump on my Hardley and go here or there. . .

so "Hardley" just stuck. . .
